The Department for Work and Pensions is funding Citizens Advice to provide independent advice and digital support with making a Universal Credit application – the ‘Help to Claim’ scheme.

This includes:

• Setting up a Universal Credit account and supporting you with your initial claim submission, including filling out the online application form
• Helping you to complete your claim and be ready to receive your first payment
• Checking that you have the correct evidence to receive your payment
• Personal budgeting to help you to manage your money effectively

Citizens Advice can offer this support:

• Face-to-face, Monday to Thursday between 10am and 4pm (no appointment necessary)
• Over the phone on freephone 0800 144 8 444, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm
