How to get a visa for a spouse or partner to live in the UK
This is a question Citizens Advice is very frequently asked. If you’re already in the UK, a non-EU/EEA spouse (husband, wife or civil partner) will need a visa to join you to live for over 6 months. They’ll need to make the application from outside the UK.
Your spouse can initially stay 33 months and then renew their visa in the UK for another 2 years and 6 months.

Suffering from poor services or faulty goods?
You’re not alone! New research from Citizens Advice has found that 14 million people suffered the knock-on effects of consumer problems in the last year, with poor services or faulty goods affecting their lives, finances or health.

Billions of pounds of benefits left unclaimed
A recent analysis by the DWP found that millions of people are failing to claim benefits they are entitled to, leaving nearly £13 billion pounds a year unclaimed. Could this include you?

Are you Scam Aware?
You can be scammed in different ways – online, by phone, by post or in person. Scammers try to get your personal details to get money from you or steal your details so they can pretend to be you. NatWest have identified 8 scams to beware of in 2018:
- Social media spying – be careful what you put online
- Malicious software on smartphones
- Bogus Brexit investments
- Fraudsters preying on World Cup excitement
- Money mules – typically students lured into laundering money
- Wedding websites which may be fake
- Romance scams – from criminals who create fake profiles
- Scams aimed at first-time house buyers.

Are you entitled to flight compensation?
In 2017 a million UK passengers were eligible for compensation worth over £380 million, as a result of flight delays or cancellations. If you are affected, EU Regulation 261/2004 (which still applies until March 2019) means you could claim up to 600 euros. This EU law applies if you depart from the UK,
